Apply to JCIE

Joining means entering real projects, not standing on the side

What you will get

  • A paper you truly helped build: baseline → experiments → draft, end-to-end participation
  • A tool that real users can use: open-source by default, reproducible, and maintained as an asset
  • A story worth telling: you can clearly explain the problem, approach, results, and your own contributions

What you need

  • Can write Python, read papers in English, use GitHub
  • Think independently first, communicate when stuck
  • Willing to work under pressure, solve problems, grow quickly

How we run projects

  • Student ownership: one student drives the project end-to-end
  • Advisor guidance: direction, milestone reviews, feedback, and final polishing
  • Reproducibility first: runnable code and reproducible experiments
  • Output-driven: push work into papers, open-source repos, or usable tools

First thing after joining

First month task: reproduce a baseline from a top conference paper. If you succeed, you continue with the project; if not, we know early if this path fits you. This is not a test, it is the first step of the project itself.

How to apply

Send email to baowen435@gmail.com with subject: [Join JCIE] Your Name.

Just tell us three things: who you are, what you have done, why you want to join. Be honest and direct.

Note

There is no salary, no credits. But what you can get here, many students never truly achieve in four years.
